  • 10/26/08--22:37: Labour Weekend 2008 - Cultural Night (chan 2747369)
  • The Waikato Filipino Association team have been preparing for Labour Weekend 2008 since last year. This is the fruit of our labour, all the sleepless nights, the stressful days, the crazy frenzy and all things in between. It has been a success and i congratulate the ever hardworking team i worked with :) There was so much to see, food to eat, people to meet, games to watch. On the first night, we held the Cultural night which featured the talent portion of candidates vying for Ms. Philippines-New Zealand 2008, PiNoyz Got Talent, Bacci's (a Filipino stand up comedian) comedy act and Gino Padilla's concert.

  • 11/06/08--03:18: conversations (chan 2747369)
  • do you know the feeling when you've just met someone and you just click? that's how i felt with this new found friend

i met her a few weeks ago at a friend's birthday party. so much has happened since then, and we actually never saw each other again after i dropped her off that night i met her.

i just found out that she is leaving soon and we never really had the chance to hang out, so she asked me to dinner at her sister's house and we went out for coffee with friends after. my friends are already a hysterical bunch as they are, and here she is, a newbie amidst a crazy familiar group. if you saw us that night though, you would actually think we've been friends for ages. we were laughing and talking like there was no tomorrow. it's just wonderful how she settled with us

so anyway, this blog is a tribute to one of the most liberating conversations i had with one of the strongest and wittiest woman i have met and proud to call my new friend it's not that of a smallish girl talk you w...

i figured that if you stay interested enough even in the smallest details of your past's life, they'll keep on thinking there is still hope for reconciliation, and that eventually, you'll realize you made a mistake and will want to come back.
    i hate that thought.
    i loathe it.
    i mean, really...
sure, there's the initial stage of missing that past someone, and i think that's inevitable. i just don't find it fair that you still want to meddle and nose around his/her life after several months of the break up. it's just unfair for the current someone.
where does all the past's insensitivity come from?
must it still take a solid and categorical YES or NO to confirm that it's the end?
    are the actions not enough?
and when they stop answering your phone calls and messages in all sorts and forms, surely that must mean something is wrong and that something has to change.

    wake up.

the graphics made me smile and the song reminded me of tishy when she was here pa. lagi kase pinapatugtog

We went for a quick swim at Waterworld, heard mass, then headed to Le Grande Hotel for Katya Santos' show. Piyesta mga tropa kong guys. tsk

went to Auckland on Christmas day to visit friends and chillax :) went to Mission Bay, One Tree Hill and Western Springs. On Boxing Day, mall tour galore kaso wala kame napala kase andaming tao. Kain to the max na lang sa Imperial Garden

    i haven't blogged in ages!

i just had so much stuff to do.

so anyway, today i finally realized there's no point hanging on to my job because no matter how hard i try to work around the required part-time hours, i can't commit to that anymore once I start back at uni.

you see, i've been working my arse off for almost 2years now because i know working for the government would look really good on my resume, especially if that department was the tax department, which apparently, is the most powerful and credible government agency in this country. and they pay really good money.

i've tried negotiating with my team leader and all, i know he has asked a million times and i really appreciate his effort in trying to keep me, but his superior put her foot down and said no. man, that really sucks.

they're letting me go because i can't work the lousy extra 2-4 hours. you see, students are required to work a minimum of 20hours a week once uni starts. my proposed schedule for the next school yea...

Just love this song at the moment

January 24-25 Went to the beach for the long weekend: :) sobrang init kase kaya sarap magswim kahit na medyo malamig ang water

so yeah, i should erect a monument in honour of my uber great team leader

he's talked to the superiors and they have FINALLY agreed to keep me.

so stoked that i don't have to go job hunting in the middle of my summer vacay

spending my spare time doing whatever i feel like and on weekends travelling to wherever we want to

    yun lang :)

Now, here's what you're supposed to do...and please do not spoil the fun.

i have been re-reading my blogs from the past, and looking at the most recent ones made me realize i haven't written a decent piece in ages.

so here i am now, thinking about what i want to write about but i don't really have that "light bulb moment." i'll write. even just for the heck of it. i feel like i'm rusting. not that i was really good anyway but i want to keep that itch and love for my writing, no matter how crappy it is.

moving on, i noticed how i have changed my perception about a lot of things -- migration, friends, priorities, career, relationships (no matter how cheesy) and life in general. not that i didn't expect to change anyway, but that moving here has contributed a lot to the fact that i am more detached to who/what i used to be. good and bad in a way.

MIGRATION. This used to be my major enemy. I attributed all frustrations, depression, self-pity, sleepless nights, tear-stained pillows and all things unpleasant to the fact that i have moved out of my comfort zone an...

if you are unhappy about a certain aspect of your life, just think about all the people who would actually kill to be in your shoes. some of us just need to be more appreciative of what life has dealt us with.

being ungrateful gives you something to do but doesn't get you anywhere.
